The arts are alive and well at the Greater New Bedford Summerfest. More than 90 arts and crafts booths in the Artisans Marketplace, the Fine Arts Area, and the International Bazaar are evaluated by jury to insure their wares are of the highest quality. For those who favor unusual handmade items for themselves or as gifts, the Greater New Bedford Summerfest is the place to be and shop. All booths are open free of charge Saturday and Sunday, July 3 & 4 from 11am—7pm.

Artisans Marketplace

Lining the cobblestone streets of the New Bedford's Whaling National Historical Park, the Artisans' Marketplace showcases the handcrafted work of many local artists as well as crafters from Maine to California. Handmade items in every imaginable medium are available including photography, painting, ceramics, textiles, wood, metal, glass and stone. Shoppers find jewelry, musical instruments, clothing, lamps, stained and blown glass, nautical crafts, wooden and cloth toys, pottery, baskets, furniture and more. There is truly something for everyone!

Fine Arts Area

The Fine Arts Area, located in the heart of the festival in the Jacobs Family Gallery of the New Bedford Whaling Museum, features an eclectic mix of artwork including paintings, photography, jewelry, furniture, and musical instruments.
